The NXR-1700E provides VHF operation across 136–174 MHz, with RF output adjustable from 50 W to 1 W. It delivers up to 50 W at a 50% duty cycle or 25 W during continuous operation.

The NXR-1800E provides UHF operation across 400–470 MHz, with RF output adjustable from 40 W to 1 W. It delivers up to 40 W at a 50% duty cycle or 25 W during continuous operation.

Both models provide 32-channel capacity, FM analogue operation and the option to activate either DMR Tier II or NEXEDGE NXDN digital operation. A radio systems dealer will recommend VHF or UHF after reviewing the site, existing frequencies, building construction and coverage requirements.

 

DMR, NXDN and FM Analogue Operation

FM Analogue

FM analogue operation comes included with the NXR-1700E and NXR-1800E. This provides a practical choice for extending or replacing an existing analogue radio system.

The repeater also supports mixed analogue and digital operation during a phased migration. Organisations may continue using existing analogue radios while introducing compatible digital radios over time.

DMR Tier II

The optional KWD-NX10DC licence activates DMR Tier II conventional operation. DMR uses two-slot TDMA technology within a 12.5 kHz radio channel, supporting efficient use of available radio spectrum.

NEXEDGE NXDN

Compact, Space-Saving Installation

Each repeater measures approximately 208.5 mm wide, 44 mm high and 211.5 mm deep, excluding projections, and weighs approximately 1.9 kg.

Two NXR-1700E or NXR-1800E repeaters fit side by side within a single 1U 19" rack space. This reduces equipment cabinet requirements and supports installations where control-room or equipment-room space is limited.

The NXR-1000 Series uses one-quarter of the rack space required by selected earlier KENWOOD repeater models. It also uses half the rack width of a standard 1U 19" repeater.
